Slowing Down the Look of Aging
As I grow closer and closer to 50, I worry more and more about my skin. I thought my skin was bad when I was 30 – if I had only known then what I knew now!
But, there are some things you can do (or not do) to help your skin not look as old – even at my age.
Some things you can do are rather obvious. One is put on sunscreen every day. Yes, I said every day. Not just when you are gardening, not just when you are going to the beach – every day. That’s because you are probably exposed to the sun every day. Professionals say the sun is public enemy number one for your skin and suggest that you use a sunscreen that blocks UVA and UVB rays and contains a SPF of at least 30.
Tom Hardy Bane Workout From the Dark Knight Rises
The following is a recipe for a super villain.
Growing up in an unstable nation in turmoil is hard enough. Add in that your father, an imprisoned revolutionary, escapes the system, leaving you in the prison where the both of you were living. The corrupt government, looking for someone to punish, chooses you to carry out his life sentence. Now youre a child being raised by killers and thieves.
Growing up in a prison has its benefits. Theres ample reading material, which young Bane takes full advantage of. There are even teachers, like the Jesuit Priest who takes Bane under his wing and gives him a formal education. A man Bane later kills.
Time isnt an issue.
Obesity Costs $190 Billion
It makes sense that as we get fatter as a nation, our healthcare costs rise as well. But, I was really taken back today when I read that obesity could cost the U.S. $190 billion in healthcare.
A new study shows that the rising cost of obesity has doubled from what experts previously expected. The staggering cost of obesity may even exceed the healthcare cost of smoking – yikes. Maybe it is true that when you give up smoking, which has been pushing in our society (and rightfully so), you gain weight.
What is all this money being spent on? Well, if you are obese, you aren’t going to fit in the regular stadium seats, so stadiums have to put in larger seats to accommodate a growing crowd.
Lululemon’s CEO of the Year
Canadas Globe and Mail Report on Business magazine has named Lululemon Athleticas Christine Day CEO of the year. This news comes after the Vancouver-based company was criticized in the media for its new Who is John Galt? shopping bag (a reference to the Ayn Rand novel Atlas Shrugged).
Day, who came from Starbucks and has served as Lulus CEO since 2008, has overseen tremendous growth during her tenure. Lululemon saw its stock climb to almost $60 this fall, up over 280% from when Day joined the company, and a whopping 250% gain year over year, according to the article.
Day points to the companys stated values as a driving factor in that growth.
