Autism Risk and the New Sibling Link
There has always been speculation about the link among siblings and autism. Having one child with autism increases the risk that his or her siblings will have it too. But recent research now shows that the risk is even higher than scientist and doctors once believed. In fact, a new study shows that parents who have one child with autism have an incredible one in five chance of having a second child with autism. Previous research suggested that the risk was only one in ten.
I’ve seen this first hand with families. Parents who are having to support not just one but two or three children with autism.
Is Blogging Revolutionizing Yoga?
Is yoga blogging the new jnana yoga? At the Yoga Festival Toronto (August 19-21) a few of the most vocal yoga bloggers in the blogosphere will attempt to answer this question during a panel discussion called “Yogging Heads: The Cutting Edge of Yoga.” (Get it? Yoga + blogging = yogging.)
Carol Horton of the Think Body Electric blog, It’s All Yoga, Baby blogger Roseanne Harvey, and Elephant Journal yoga editor Bob Weisenberg will talk about what blogging about yoga means to each of them and discuss what it could mean for the yoga community as a whole.
Gluten Free Food Review : Glutino “Original” Crackers
In general, gluten-free versions of things like crackers, cookies, and granola bars are not going to taste exactly like the ones that have wheat, barley, or other ingredients that contain gluten. Many gluten-free products taste good, but different from what you might have been used to. I recommend the gluten-free crackers made by Glutino.
Crackers were one of the foods that I missed the most after I learned that I had a gluten allergy. They make great snacks, they help settle your stomach, they are easy to eat while typing. Fortunately, there are several different kinds of gluten-free crackers to choose from.
How to Survive Falling Off the Wagon
Its happened to the strongest and most willful of us all. We havent just fallen off the weight management and fitness wagon, but weve stayed off. While we are saturated with information on how to lose weight and tone our bodies, we rarely get the help we need when the inevitable lapse occurs.
My rule of thumb to work my way back onto that wagon is to begin by remembering that To err is human, to forgive YOURSELF divine!
Once you have accepted that this is a temporary set back you will realize that there are benefits to falling off the wagon. For starters, it will give you an opportunity to revisit what you were doing and why you didnt stay motivated.
