Its our second to last week in Courtneys Summer Challenge and she is taking it easy on us. In fact, shes turning up the heat a bit. Fair enough, weve been at this for almost three months, surely were ready to take on a total body workout.

How to Keep Motivated to Stay in Shape

I am always fascinated by the tools people use to stay motivated and continue on their weight management and fitness programs. Here are a few of my favorites. I hope you find one that works for you!

I get on the scale once a day to monitor my weight. My goal is to stay within five pounds of my ideal and . I usually remain the same, but on those off times when stress or overindulging pushes that number up, I dont panic because if I catch the weight gain earlier enough I won’t have to lose so much down the road. It is easier to lose five pounds than it is 10, 20 or 50!

Years ago, I decided that living a busy life would no longer be an excuse to ignore my fitness. M

Yoga for Arthritis

Arthritis is a condition defined by inflammation in one or more joints, coupled with stiffness, soreness and a limited range of motion. According to the Center for Disease Control, arthritis affects nearly 50 million Americans, and that amount is expected to rise. There are over 100 types of arthritis and the causes include but are not limited to , lack of exercise, improper auto immune response, and the overuse of a misaligned joint.

However the painful condition has come about, the treatment and management of it is very important.

Lowering Cholesterol Naturally

My cholesterol is probably high. I haven’t had it checked lately, but I know I’ve been putting on weight (20 pounds to be exact), not exercising (although I am trying to start a routine), and eating bad foods (think fried and processed and not enough fiber). My best friend does all the same bad things I do – weighs too much, no exercise, eats poorly – but his cholesterol is great. Why? Because he takes a pill every day to keep it down.

Now, bad cholesterol is no joke, but I don’t want to take a pill to lower mine. Call me bullheaded, but I know if I take a pill, yes, my cholesterol may lower, but I won’t change any of my bad habits.
